Cyanuric acid is used as a chemical addition to water in swimming pools along with chlorine dioxide treatment agents to stabilize chlorine levels by minimizing light degradation.
It has several chlorinated derivatives, used as a disinfectant to kill algae or microbioxide in the water of swimming pools as well as large industrial water storage systems.

Usage and application:
Cyanuric acid or granules used to manufacture chlorinated isocyanates, paints and substances government. It is proven to be mainly used for the synthesis of new bleaches, resins, antioxidants, paints, coatings, hair dyes and slow cyanide metals. And Cyanuric acid powder, Cyanuric acid granules, Cyanuric acid tablets can also be used directly as swimming pool chlorine stabiliser, nylon, resin, polyester, flame retardant and cosmetic additive.
Cyanuric acid can also be used as a raw material for the production of biocides, disinfectants, bleaches or selective herbicides, herbicides.
Generally, the functions of cyanuric acid:
1. Cyanuric acid, cyanuric acid, cyanuric acid Tablet can be used for swimming pool and drinking water treatment and bleach the detergent in water.
2. Can be used as a preventive disinfectant at home, hotel, hospital and public place; used to disinfect fish culture.
3. Cyanuric acid can be used for textile bleaching, preventing fleece , to prevent the paper from decaying and acting like rubber chloride.
Cyanuric acid, consisting of 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triol, is a chemical with the formula (CNOH) 3. Like many other useful industrial chemicals, Cyanuric Acid has many synonyms. It is white, odorless. There are many uses for cyanuric acid such as being used as a precursor or an ingredient in bleach, disinfectants and herbicides. In 1990, worldwide production was 160 million kg. Nowadays, the production scale of cyanuric acid is more.
Properties and Synthesis
Cyanuric acid is a cyclic trimer of cyanic acid, HOCN. 2 structure shown in infobox easy to switch; That is to say they are tautomers. However, mixing with melamine forms melanin cyanurate, which removes the cyanuric acid in the tri-keto tautomer and renders melamine cyanurate insoluble in water. Tautomer triol, which may have aromatic properties, predominates in solution. The hydroxyl groups (-OH) have phenolic properties.
Deprotonation with a supply base of a wide range of cyanurate salts:
[C (O) NH] 3 - [C (O) NH] 2 [C (O) N] - + H + (Ka = 10-7)
[C (O) NH] 2 [C (O) N] - [C (O) NH] [C (O) N] 22- + H + (Ka = 10-11)
[C (O) NH] [C (O) N] 22- [C (O) N] 33- + H + (Ka = 10-14)
Synthesis
In ancient times, cyanuric acid was first synthesized by the thermal decomposition of urea and uric acid. Now, there is a better way to produce cyanuric acid, by thermal decomposition of urea, with the release of ammonia.
The conversion starts at about 175 °C:
3 H2N-CO-NH 2 - [C(O)NH] 3 3 NH 3
Cyanuric acid crystallizes from water as a dihydrate.
Cyanuric acid can be produced by hydrolysis of crude oil or waste melamine followed by crystallization. Acid waste streams from plants during the production of these raw materials contain cyanuric acid and, occasionally, substituted amine triazines, ammoniums, ammelides and melamine. In one method, the ammonium sulfate solution is heated to "boiling" and treated with a steaminometric standard of melamine, which means that cyanuric acid precipitates as a melamine-cyanuric acid complex. Different waste streams containing cyanuric acid and substituted amino triazines can be combined for disposal and under unpleasant conditions unreleased cyanuric acid can be present in the waste stream.
